Abstract
The Second International Saudi Coffee Research Forum provides a multidisciplinary platform to examine the scientific, environmental, economic, and cultural dimensions of Saudi coffee production and innovation. This forum brings together leading researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy experts to address critical challenges and opportunities in the Saudi coffee value chain, with a particular focus on sustainable agricultural practices, climate resilience, and technological integration. The scientific program is structured around four central themes: (1) Enhancing Saudi coffee production systems through pest and disease management, climate adaptation strategies, and land and water resource optimization; (2) Advancing sustainability and innovation via precision agriculture, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and improved post-harvest processing techniques; (3) Investigating the socio-economic, cultural, and health impacts of coffee cultivation and consumption, particularly in rural and mountainous regions; and (4) Strengthening the competitive positioning of Saudi coffee through branding, market diversification, value chain development, and public–private partnerships. Through the integration of scientific research and practical applications, the forum aims to support the transformation of Saudi coffee into a globally competitive crop. It further seeks to inform national strategies for agricultural diversification, rural development, and economic sustainability aligned with Vision 2030.
