Diabetes mellitus and the mechanism of action of the pancreas in the University College of Farasan

The University College of Farasan, represented by the Student Activity Unit in the Department of Medical Sciences, implemented a nursing program under the patronage of the Dean of the College and the supervision of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs - the initiative of the World Diabetes Day in conjunction with the Nursing Colleges in its branches at the university, under the slogan (By joining us, you protect yourself from diabetes ) in the college auditorium. The women of the Farasan community joined the women students and members of the Nursing Department.

With the participation of the Farasan Primary Care Dispensary, the examination of diabetes mellitus, the field examination of hepatitis C virus, and the seasonal flu vaccination, where the staff of the college participated in the organization, and the reception and hospitality members of the Farasan Archipelago Club participated in the organization.

The awareness program included a lecture in the college theater entitled: Diabetes and the mechanism of action of the pancreas, presented by Dr. Alawia Abdel Rahman and Professor Somaya Mian, two members of the Nursing Department.

A corner was set up for reception and sorting, a corner for measuring weight, height, blood sugar, blood pressure, and calculating body mass, a third corner to raise awareness of a healthy lifestyle, and a fourth corner for health education for the individual and the family and clarification of prevention methods, foods and calories that raise the glucose rate, a corner for psychological support, and a corner for mother and child.
