About the Unit
Welcome to the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Unit at the College of Business. The unit operates under the Vice Deanship for Research and Development to promote knowledge dissemination and provide services to college faculty and staff.
Unit Responsibilities

✓ Promoting the culture of research ethics, principles, and foundations |

✓ Supervising research plans and ensuring alignment with the college's and university's vision and mission |
✓ Organizing specialized courses, lectures, and workshops in research and innovation |

✓ Encouraging faculty to increase research productivity, apply for research projects, and form research groups |
✓ Encouraging participation in conferences inside and outside the university |
|
✓ Reviewing research output for faculty seeking academic promotion upon request |
✓ Maintaining an up-to-date database of faculty research output |

✓ Providing journal classification services and reports for publication and excellence rewards |
✓ Advising on how to avoid predatory journals |
Services Offered
1. Ethical Approval for Research
To obtain ethical approval, faculty members must:
✓ Create an account on the National Committee of Bioethics (NCBE) website and obtain a training certificate
✓ Complete the Application Form for Ethical Review at Jazan University

2. Plagiarism Check Service
Request via email to the Vice Deanship or Research Unit with the following information:

3. Academic Promotion Support Initiative
The unit offers a voluntary initiative providing guidance, advice, and workshops on requirements for promotion to Associate Professor and Professor ranks at Jazan University, in accordance with current regulations and updates. This includes guidance on journal classification in ISI, Scopus, and International databases to achieve the required points for promotion application.
4. International Journal Classification Reports
Providing journal classification reports for all faculty members for the purpose of applying for publication rewards, excellence awards, research project grants, or research group incentives.
5. Liaison with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research
The unit facilitates communication with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and its various committees for faculty inquiries and requests.
