Over 50,000 referrals for dental clinics of Jazan University during 2019
The Dean of the College of Dentistry at Jazan University, Dr. Haitham Faqih, confirmed that dental clinics have achieved multiple successes in community services based on the University’s initiatives to serve the people of the region. The college’s 287 clinics received more than 50 thousand referrals during 2019, indicating that the clinics provide services in several specialties such as oral surgery, periodontics, dental fillings, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, prosthetics, and diagnostic radiology.
Dr. Faqih added that, during the past year, the clinics opened about 10,563 files, including 5,823 files for men, and 4,735 files for women. Dr. Faqih also informed that the total beneficiaries of the clinics’ services reached 50,605 male and female patients.
Faqih praised the role of the college’s professors and consultant doctors in providing therapeutic services, treatments in addition to the educational and awareness initiatives. The college’s employees spread the culture of oral health by carrying out field visits to public schools in Jazan region through the “dental caravans”, made possible with the support and guidance of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani.
