Objectives:

Supporting scientific research and encouraging researchers in the College of Science

Unit tasks:

• Preparation of an annual research and innovation plan, as well as the coordinating and monitoring its activities at the college.
• Emphasize on the integration of research and innovation concepts within the College of Science by promoting activities and proposing initiatives and ideas to enhance these concepts among students and faculty members.
• Study and identify obstacles facing scientific research and innovations at the college, and devise methods to overcome them in coordination with relevant authorities.
• Conduct regular surveys of faculty members and researchers at the college and continuously update their data.
• Encourage faculty members to submit their research proposals to funding bodies in the Kingdom,(such as the Deanship of Scientific Research and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. Additionally motivate talented students to present their ideas or innovations.
• Prepare a comprehensive guide that includes all research activities for faculty members at the college, along with a list of names of talented and outstanding students at the departmental level who are eligible for enrollment in programs tailored for the talented.
• Familiarize students and faculty members with the Intellectual Property Office affiliated with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, and inform them about the services provided by the office, which include obtaining patents and assisting with product development.
• Announce various activities related to research and innovation.
• Hold regular meetings at the college level with innovative and talented students, as well as distinguished faculty members, in order to identify their needs for training programs, workshops, competitions, and other mechanisms to help them develop their ideas and enhance their impact on the community.
• Prepare and coordinate for the annual scientific forum for students of Jazan University.
• Nominate college students to participate in university-level innovation competitions.
