The conditions and procedure for promotion to the rank of Associate Professor:
  
The conditions:

a)      He or she should be in employment for four years as Assistant Professor at a Saudi University or other registered University but employment in a Saudi University should be for a minimum of one year.  The academic staff member has the right to apply for promotion six months before the stated time.

b)      He or she should present a scientific contribution which has either been published or accepted for publication during his or her employment as Assistant Professor.

c)   A published or accepted article in a refereed journal which should cover at least four units, two of them should be as a single author and the published contribution should cover at least one units.
