President inaugurates the exhibition "Archeology" photography and awards the winners

His Excellency the President of Jazan University, Dr. Mar’ei bin Hussein Al-Qahtani, said: "The Kingdom's archeological treasures reflect the greatness of our civilization built by our ancestors and give us the impetus to continue our challenges to achieve the ambitious and unique national achievements."

This came during the opening ceremony by His Excellency yesterday morning, in the lobby of the University tower of the exhibition "Archeology Photography", in the presence of the University Vice Presidents.  

Al-Qahtani toured the exhibition organized by the University in cooperation with Jazan’s branch of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, coinciding with the launch of the first forum for the Kingdom’s Archeology, organized under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

The President honored the winners of the best three entries sent by photography enthusiasts for the competition. The prizes were worth 10 thousand riyals and the winners are: Muhannad Al Amoudi first place, second position Fahd Al Harbi, while the third ranked photographer is Abdul Ghani Al-Qadi.


Last week, Jazan University held a symposium entitled "Our Archeology and the Future" and announced the launching of a research project to create the "Jazan Encyclopedia of Antiquities" in conjunction with the launch of the first forum of the Archeology of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
