Decorating Space to be a Better Place

Samitta College of Arts, Girls’ Branch, Jazan University, organized a workshop entitled, “Beauty and Change through Recycling.” It was organized by Ms. Rabab Hassan Tantawi, as a part of the ‘My college is more beautiful’ campaign.

 The workshop covered an introduction to the aspects of recycling, reusing and sustaining the environment. Simple experiments such as changing trash into useful items were presented. Things such as plastic cartoon containers and vases were created using raw materials. Amongst many disposable things, some of the materials included, aluminums, egg shells and cans.

The art produced by the students was presented to everyone at the end of the workshop. Plans to organize a larger exhibition at the university level are in motion. This will give a chance to show off the art to everyone as well as share the concept of sustaining the environment. In its essence, these activities are proactively representing their slogan: “Decorating space to be a better place.”
