Jazan University Council holds its 3rd meeting

His Excellency Professor Mohamed bin Ali AlHyaz’e, Jazan University President, on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Chairman of the University Board, presided over the 3rd University Council session for this academic year. It was held on TueDay,15/7/1433 H, at the university Higher Administration.

Professor Al-Hyaz’e started the meeting by congratulating the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the pledge of allegiance, on behalf of all university members. They also expressed their gratitude to the King (May Allah save him) for the inauguration of the first phase of the University City projects and for laying the foundation stone for the second phase. After reviewing the meeting agenda, the Council took the following decisions:

The approval of the appointment of seven Assistant Professors, eleven Lecturers, twenty-seven Demonstrators of both sexes, and the approval of new scholarships as well as, the extension of existing scholarships of 123 lecturers (male and female) to get their master's degree and do their doctoral studies, the approval of granting the due bachelor Degree for the graduates of the second semester and the summer semester of the academic year 1432/1433 H, the approval of the Academic Calendar for the academic year 1433/1434 H, approval of the admission plan of the year 1433/1434 H, to accommodate 15,640 students, the approval of a number of study plans for the new departments at the university, the approval of the formation of the Council members of the Deanship of Higher Studies, the approval of a program directed for the development of English language skills for the faculty Saudis, recommended the approval of the memorandum of understanding between the Community College of Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, and the Community College of Northern Virginia, USA, the approval of study leaves and sabbatical for a number of faculty members, the approval of the appointment of a number of faculty members in the posts of Assistant Professors in many colleges, the approval of the University final financial statements for the Year 1432/1433 H, and finally, the Council approved to authorize the Minister of Higher Education the powers of the University Council during the summer vacation for the academic year 1432/1433 H.

This was stated by Professor Mohamed bin Ali Rubai’e, Vice-President for Higher Studies and Scientific Research and Secretary of the University Council, in the presence of the Rector Deputies, Council Members, Dr Mohamed bin Abdulaziz al-Saleh, Secretary General of Higher Education, and Deans of Colleges.
