Prince Mohamed Bin Nasser sponsors the inauguration ceremony of the Saudi Biology Association conference at Jazan University
The prince of Jazan region, his Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, recently sponsored the inauguration ceremony of the Saudi Biology Association. This occasion was for the twenty seventh biology conference which was organized by Jazan University under the title of, “Natural Resources and Environment Economies.” More than five hundred experts and researchers participated from within and outside of the Kingdom.
His Royal Highness Prince Torky Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, Chief Director of Meteorology and Environment Protection, and his Royal Highness Prince Nawaf Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, Executive Director of Saudi Environment Society, also attended the inauguration ceremony.
The gathering ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. After this, Dr. Abdullah Bin Yahya al-Hussein, Dean of Science and Vice-Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of the university. In this, he expressed the gratitude of the university members towards his Royal Highness the Prince of Jazan region, for his continuous support. He also added that this academic conference has more than three hundred and fifty research papers to discuss from the various fields of biology. For this conference, over one hundred and thirty scientific posters of different scientists and researchers were posted, some of the individuals being Noble Prize recipients.
Dr. Abdullah then thanked his Royal Highness Prince Torky Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, the Chief Director of Meteorology and Environment Protection, and his Royal Highness Prince Nawaf Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, Executive Director of Saudi Environment Society, for attending and warmly welcomed them to Jazan University.
Professor Ibrahim Bin Abdul Wahid al-A’arif, Chairperson of the Saudi Biology Association, delivered a speech on behalf of the association in which he thanked Jazan University, the participants and the researchers. He recognized and praised their overall yet dedicated scientific participation as well as their effective and positive contributions to the conference.
He pointed out the title of the conference conforms with the dedicated concerns of the wise rulers (may Allah protect them) in sustaining the environment’s natural life and resources. He stressed the fact that such a conference is a fertile ground for scientific dialogue. This foundation contributes greatly towards the various fields of biology, especially these research papers and workshops. Later in the itinerary, Eyad Abu Shamlah al-Hakami, a student of Jazan University and a winner of Sharjah Prize for poetic distinction, read a patriotic poem written by him.
After this, his Royal Highness Prince of Jazan screened a documentary film about the Saudi Biology Association, which was established in 1395 H. From the documentary, one of the aims of this association is to allow for familiarization between international studies and studies inside the Kingdom. This should be with support, encouragement for research, providing scientific consultations to the various sectors and raising awareness and interests in solving environmental problems. One of the solutions that the film offered is education through seminars and conferences. His Royal Highness also showed another documentary film about the development of the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection during the last decade.
In the end of the ceremony his Royal Highness Prince of Jazan region with his Royal Highness Prince Torky Bin Nasser honored the main speakers of this conference and awarded the special researchers and patentees as well as all others involved. In return, for this occasion, his royal highness received a gift on behalf of the Saudi Biology Association, the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection. Jazan University Rector, from his side, presented the University Shield to his Royal Highness Prince Torky Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, as well as one to his Royal Highness Nawaf Bin Nasser, as a token of their appreciation of their involvement and visit to Jazan University.
